CARMET metalworking Company was founded in 1995 by owner Gennaro Tramonti, who already boasted more than thirty years’ experience in the metal works sector; since then the company has become a byword for reliability and quality.
Originally a small trade, as the new generation became involved in running the company in 2000 the business has seen a continuous process of innovation, with the introduction of cutting-edge machinery and the application of 2D and 3D design software. Today, the company’s baggage of knowledge and experience, as well as the technologies adopted, allow CARMET to respond quickly and efficiently to the demands of its customers, at the same time maintaining all the care and attention to detail expected of craft manufacturing of the highest quality. The cutting-edge equipment and highly specialised staff ensure that the company is able to supply finished products manufactured 100% in-house: from the processing of the drawings provided by the customer using avant-garde 2D and 3D programmes, to piece manufacturing including all the mechanical sheet cutting and bending processes,
to assembly in the welding department where masks and specific equipment are produced internally, to the supervision of outsourced finishing treatments including painting, hot and cold galvanising performed by our highly qualified network of external partners and supplier. This allows CAR-MET to supply a complete service of the highest quality, tailored to meet all our customers’ needs, for both large mass productions and small and medium batches. The company’s engineering department works side by side with customers to satisfy their every need, placing its knowledge and resources at the disposal of the customer. The quality of the supplied product is ensured by constant controls performed on the incoming materials, the in-house processes and intermediate production phases, as well as on the final products, subjected to both size and functional tests. All this allows CARMET to perform as a highly reliable partner for productions in many fields of application, including electrical cabinets, uninterruptible power supplies, furnishing, street furniture and many other fields besides.
Machining services
CAR-MET supplies a complete range of complementary services and processes
for light machining and joinery works on iron, stainless steel and aluminium.
Our 2D TRUMPF TCL3030 laser cutting machine has a power output of 3200 W, operating range 3000x1500mm, machining materials: iron, stainless steel and aluminium.
Our TRUMPF TC2000 punching machine is equipped with automated tool loading, 360° rotating punching head whatever the tool used. Operating range 1250x2500mm, maximum machining thickness 3mm on iron, steel, aluminium, copper and copper alloys, pre-painted sheets and plastics.
Press brakes up to 160 tonnes with maximum bending length 3 m.
Our MIG/MAG and spot welding department is manned by specialist, licensed welders. We perform welding works on iron, stainless steel and aluminium.
The long-standing experience of our staff allows us to design and manufacture welding masks for small batches or repetitive pieces in-house
On request we also perform mechanical assembly works, to provide a full service tailored to the needs of our customers.
CAR-MET is also able to machine pipes and profiles with different sizes and sections. Our pipe bending equipment machines diameters from a minimum of 12 mm to a maximum of 35 mm, and our angle roller can process:
- Shaft diameter 40 mm
- Maximum capacity for round pipes 70 x 1.5 mm
- Maximum capacity for gas pipes 2″ (3.2 mm)
- Maximum capacity for angle profiles 50 x 50 x 6 mm
We also perform welding, drilling and threading processes on pipes and profiles.
On request CAR-MET can also provide surface treatments and painting services: through our highly qualified network of external partners and suppliers, we are able to supply hot or cold galvanised or powder or liquid painted products, according to customer specifications.
Design
Idea, development, programming, industrialisation
The CARMET engineering department works side by side with customers, from product design onwards: our staff help customers to identify the best solutions, discussing needs, finding the best solutions and identifying the most suitable technical devices to develop the prototype with a view to optimising times and costs. After producing the sample, the designers are involved in testing and any improvements required to ensure correct product industrialisation. We pay the utmost attention to productivity, scheduling and cost-efficiency. If the customer already has the drawings for the required pieces, we reprocess them, when necessary, selecting the processing methods and drafting the relative bills of materials and work cycles prior to production. We work with 2D and 3D CAD and CAM software. Send us your drawings in .step, .stl, .dwg, dxf, .iges, .parasolid formats. CAR-MET pays particular attention to production programming and monitoring, to guarantee that the agreed delivery times and quality standards are met for every order. Among all our services, a key role is played by Quality Control that uses the most highly qualified, avant-garde testing tools and processes to control the incoming materials, monitor the production processes and final testing to guarantee the quality of the end products.
